Subsonic Uppers – Custom Builds

Ron Williams has been building custom ar15’s and developing subsonics and various ar15 based supersonics since 2011. He was one of the first people to make the D.I 45 ACP on the ar platform. Ron is extremely knowledgeable about the ar15 and what it takes to make it run properly with various cartridges subsonic and supersonic.

Jeff Mager formerly worked in Open Heart surgery for over 35 years. Since 2010 he has worked with Lehigh Defense doing subsonic, and R & D (until they sold to Bill Wilson). He has also been a consultant for other manufacturers.

As a collaboration Ron and Jeff have been optimizing the dedicated subsonic cartridges giving it the name, “Nanosonic”. This is a cartridge using the heaviest per caliber bullets. Just enough powder to provide 950-1050 feet / second and “IDEAL” load density. Bullets are generally seated similar to F – class rounds, only the boattail is beyond the shoulder – neck junction. The cases should only have enough shoulder to Properly head space on, giving the cartridge near maximum case efficiency. We do not really endorse the notion of dual role cartridges. Generally they are poor at both subsonic (poor load density) and supersonic (light for caliber bullets and generally their ethical range marginally exceeds the subsonic range) If you like that … great. The average person is often duped into the current fads, hype or what their buddy has.
